I love heat embossing. You get such fast, effective results and I don’t think that there are any stamps that don’t lend themselves to the technique.
I have had Vertical Greetings on my shelf for a while, and just have not around to using it much. It is a lovely set, and I wondered how I could get a different coloured plant pot and plant.
I could ink the two separately, but I wondered if I was able to heat emboss in two different colours. I stamped the whole image in Versamark, then covered part of it with a small piece of card, leaving only the pot visible. I scattered the coloured embossing powder (red for one and bronze for the other), carefully removed the card and placed it on the plantpot being careful not to disturb the embossing powder. I covering the visible part of the stamp in clear embossing powder. Then used the heat gun on the whole image.
I then did my other favourite technique of sponging over the image until I had the result I wanted.
I used: various embossing powders, Island Indigo Ink and Card, Soft Sky ink and card.
