paisley-box

You know what it is like. You sit down to make a project which requires some lovely paper, and you don’t have anything suitable.

I may have mentioned my love for the Paisleys and Posies stamp set. There is some beautiful Designer Series Paper that goes with the suite but, stupidly, I didn’t think to buy it.

Yesterday, I wanted to make a box, but I didn’t want to use plain card, so I mde my own DSP. It is such an easy thing to do.

I took an A4 sheet of Whisper White cardstock and stamped all over with various stamps from Paisleys and Poseys in lots of different colours: Island Indigo, Crushed Curry, Soft Sky, Old Olive, Mint Macaron and Tangerine Tango. With Indian-style designs the more colour the better. I covered the whole of the card and made sure that some of the stamps went over the edges.

To make the box, I scored along the long side at 1cm, and then every 5cm. On one short side, I scored at 5cm.

To embellish the box I used Soft Sky card and ink for the stamping of the sentiment and for the decorative elements.
