You know what it is like when someone throws down the gauntlet? Well, in my case I usually head the other way at top speed. Today, I decided to pick up the gauntlet and take part in the Pootles Colour Challenge.
The current Colour Challenge was to use Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry. We could choose our own stamp set and whether we wanted to use all or just some of the challenge colours.
The Artistically Asian stamp set is one of my current favourites. Its simplicity sets it apart, and calls for a simple colour scheme. I decided on Sweet Sugarplum and Blushing Bride, two colours I have not used much, not really being a pink girl.
I paired the chrysanthemum stamp from Artistically Asian and the splodge (that is a technical term, obviously) from Gorgeous Grunge. Taking a 4″ (10cm) square of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the splodge in Blushing Bride which was stamped off first, and the flower in Sweet Sugarplum, which is the most glorious pink, also stamped off. I matted on a piece of Blushing Bride cut just a little bigger, then onto another piece of Whisper White, and finally onto a card blank made of Blushing Bride.
The sentiment was stamped with Sweet Sugarplum onto Whisper White which was then matted onto some more pink after I inked around the edges. And that is that. A simple elegant card using just two colours.
