moroccan

This stamp set conjours up images of courtyard gardens in a riad, fountains playing in the background, cooling the air.

I wanted to use a combination of hot colours to symbolise the deserts of Morocco, but also try to create the blue that the country is famous for.

Taking a piece of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped and heat embossed the border stamp at the top. Taking the Stampin’ Up! sponges I started with Crushed Curry at the top of the card, then some Tangerine Tango, making sure that I blended the two colours well. The next colour I chose was Island Indigo which has a turquoise element to it, and finally finished with Night of Navy. The two (slightly squiffy) lanterns were stamped in Night of Navy.

A slightly larger piece of Whisper White card was stamped around the edges with Night of Navy and the two stuck together with Snail, and then the card blank is Crushed Curry.

Squiffy lamps aside I am pleased with the result, and I could always say it was windy!

Inks used: Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Island Indigo, Night of Navy.
