I am sure you know by now that I love Asian and Oriental stamp sets. Artistically Asian jumped off the page when I was looking through the new annual catalogue. It is so simple and elegant.
Usually, I make it up as I go along, but for a change I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to keep it really simple and without too much colour.
I made a card blank with Whisper White card stock, a matt of Basic Black cut 1/4″ smaller on the length and width than the card, then another piece of Whisper White cut 1/4″ smaller on the length and width than the matt.
I found it easier to cut the small white oblongs of card and then stamp as close to the middle as possible. (To get the size to cut the lozenge to, I stamped one of the character images and then measured it). I then cut two more oblongs of rose red card allowing a little border and stuck them together.
The hardest bit was trying to decide which of the main images to use, but after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing, I decided on the bamboo. Using Basic Black ink, I stamped it in the bottom left corner and then chose one of the sentiments for the bottom right.
Ta-dah! One simple and elegant card. What do you think?
